How do I configure my HOTAS for Arma Reforger?

Which joysticks are supported?

All joysticks that work with the browser's Gamepad API are supported, including Thrustmaster (T.16000M, HOTAS Warthog), Logitech (X56, X52), VKB (Gladiator, Gunfighter), Virpil, CH Products, Microsoft Sidewinder, and generic USB controllers.

Why is my rudder axis only showing positive values?

Some joysticks like the Microsoft Sidewinder X2 have axes that don't center at zero. Enable 'Axis Calibration' mode in the configurator, then move all your axes through their full range. The tool will automatically detect and correct for offset center points.

Where do I save the config file?

Save the downloaded .conf file to: %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\ArmaReforger\profile\.save\settings\customInputConfigs on Windows, or ~/.local/share/bohemia interactive/arma reforger/profile/.save/settings/customInputConfigs on Linux.

Should all fire actions use the same button?

Yes! CharacterFire, TurretFire, HelicopterFire, and VehicleFire should all be bound to the same trigger button. This ensures consistent firing whether you're on foot, in a vehicle, helicopter, or turret. The configurator will prompt you to use the same binding for all fire actions.

Does this work with multiple joysticks connected?

Yes! The configurator detects and displays all connected gamepads. You can bind different actions to different devices (e.g., stick for cyclic, throttle for collective, pedals for rudder). Each input shows which device it belongs to.
